In the Ice Age Center’s Sparks room, the numbers on the electricity bill are studied

The Ice Age Center opened Sparks room on March 23, which was completed together with the students of Võru Gymnasium. It is an educational exhibition that draws attention to topics related to electricity. What do the electricity package and bill, network fee, savings, electricity market, stock exchange price mean? How to find your way around such a topic?

The exhibition introduces visitors in a simple way to how electricity works, what it consists of and how to use it sustainably. Here we take apart the individual bars that the electricity bill actually reflects, what the different numbers come from and what they mean.

It is an interactive exhibition, because you can also generate electricity yourself and find out how the Solar Park of the Ice Age Center works.

“The attraction of the Sparks room will probably be the model of the city where the electricity has been lost due to the storm and the crisis committee has to decide how to hold out until the electricity is restored,” introduced Kadri Valner. “it is important to decide which are the vital institutions in the city where electricity must be preserved.”

This simulation also provides an opportunity for new educational programs, because it teaches teamwork as well as logical thinking and acting out real situations.

Sparks room was completed in cooperation with Võru high school students, thanks to which the young people’s point of view has been added to the exhibition.

The main target group of Särtsutoa is young people who study in elementary school or high school, but there are many activities for adults as well.

The completion of the exhibition has been supported by the Estonian state, the Ministry of Climate and the Center for Environmental Investments, carried out by Adexpert and Kerttu Laane design.

Jääaja Keskuse Särtsutoas uuritakse numbreid elektriarvel

Jääaja Keskus avas 23. märtsil Särtsutoa, mis valmis koos Võru gümnaasiumi õpilastega. Tegemist on haridusliku näitusega, mis juhib tähelepanu elektriga seotud teemadele. Mida tähendavad elektripakett ja – arve, võrgutasu, kokkuhoid, elektriturg, börsihind? Kuidas kogu sellises temaatikas orienteeruda?

Näitus tutvustab külastajatele lihtsas võtmes, kuidas elektrivool toimib, millest see koosneb ning kuidas seda jätkusuutlikult kasutada. Siin võetakse üksipulgi lahti, mida elektriarve päriselt kajastab, millest erinevad numbrid tulevad ja mida need tähendavad.

Tegemist on interaktiivse näitusega, sest võimalus on ka ise elektrit toota ja uurida, kuidas töötab Jääaja Keskuse päikesepark.

„Särtsutoa tõmbenumbriks kujuneb ilmselt linna makett, kus tormi tõttu on kadunud elekter ja kriisikomisjon peab otsustama, kuidas pidada vastu nii kaua, kuini elekter taastub, „ tutvustas Kadri Valner. „oluline on otsustada, millised on linnas elutähtsad asutused, kus elekter peab säilima.“

Antud simulatsioon annab võimaluse ka uuteks haridusprogrammideks, sest õpetab nii meeskonnatööd kui ka loogilist mõtlemist ja reaalsete situatsioonide läbimängimist.

Särtsutuba valmis koostöös Võru gümnaasiumi õpilastega, tänu millele on näitusele lisatud noorte vaatenurk. 

Särtsutoa põhiline sihtgrupp ongi noored, kes õpivad põhikoolis või gümnaasiumis, kuid palju tegevust on ka täiskasvanutel.
