Although International Polar Bear Day is on February 27, we invite you to dive into the fascinating world of the polar regions on March 9 at 13:00 at the Ice Age Centre, together with one of Estonia’s most experienced polar captains!

🔹 Special Guest: Polar Captain Jaanus Hannes
Have you ever wondered what life is like on the polar seas? Jaanus Hannes knows better than anyone! Over the past 13 years, he has participated in more than 70 expeditions to Antarctica and 30 to the Arctic, navigating some of the world’s harshest environments. His stories will take you to places few have ever been — through towering icebergs, remote fjords, and fierce polar storms.

Hear captivating tales of polar expeditions — what kind of ships can break through the ice, how tourist expeditions to the polar regions unfold, and the unique challenges faced by the crew.

🐾 New Exhibition:
Discover the story of Anatoli Norman, the first Estonian to overwinter in Antarctica.

🕐 10:00–17:00 – Explore the Ice Age Centre’s interactive exhibitions. An audio guide is available in Estonian, English, Russian, and Latvian on your smartphone.

🕐 11:00–16:00 – Polar Bear Café is open, serving warm drinks and delicious meals.

This event is organized in collaboration with the Polar Club, which brings together polar researchers and enthusiasts. The Anatoli Norman exhibition is presented by the Estonian Maritime Museum.
