Renewable Energy is Pushing Boundaries
We Only Have One Planet
We consume Earth’s resources faster than our planet can regenerate them. The ecological footprint of an average Estonian is one-third higher than the European average and exceeds the Earth's sustainable limit by 3.8 times. In Estonia, this is largely due to oil shale energy, but also our everyday consumption habits – from food choices to consumer goods.
What Can We Do?
Humanity must increasingly turn to renewable energy sources. Wind, solar, geothermal, and hydropower – these energy sources help us move away from the use of carbon-based fuels formed over millions of years. In fact, much can be changed simply by adjusting our behavior. The choices we make as consumers – how we spend our free time, how we travel, what we buy, and what we wear – all play a role.
New Interactive Renewable Energy Exhibition
On June 1st, the Ice Age Centre is proud to open its new permanent exhibition on renewable energy. This hands-on, interactive display is designed to raise awareness about environmentally friendly energy sources and their impact on our daily lives. Visitors can explore practical solutions and engaging experiences that help explain how renewable energy works and why it's vital for our future.
To celebrate both the exhibition opening and International Children’s Day, the Ice Age Centre warmly invites you and your family to spend an exciting day filled with discovery and joy.
