Peeter Laurits presents the exhibition “Something`s related to everything”

in a newly adapted format, bringing joy and intellectual nourishment to the people of Southern Estonia.

On Sunday, the artist will discuss his work and introduce the exhibition Something`s related to everything”offering new perspectives on perceiving and experiencing nature.

“I love vast and ancient forests where one can get lost. Truly lost, without taking out a phone from the pocket, without consulting a map, not seeking the way home, but wandering around with fresh eyes and enjoying being lost. This way, you see more and can feel the forest with much clearer perception. The forest is a huge, mysterious, and beautiful ecosystem where all life forms are interconnected and speak to you in a thousand languages,” says Laurits.

The exhibition Something`s related to everything” consists of large-scale photographs and video installations. The sound design for the exhibition is created by composer Ann Reimann and biologist Veljo Runnel. The exhibition also features works viewable through VR glasses.

Peeter Laurits has studied at Tartu and Leningrad State Universities, the Estonian Institute of Humanities, and the International Center of Photography in New York. Laurits’ main mediums of expression are photography and digital manipulations. Among other recognitions, Peeter Laurits is a recipient of the Kristjan Raud Annual Prize (2004), the Estonian Cultural Endowment’s Annual Prize for Architecture (2009), and the Eerik Haamer Art Award (2023). Since 2021, Laurits has been curating the international science and art symposium Biotoopia.
