From October 22nd (Tue) to October 25th (Fri), exciting workshops will take place at the Ice Age Centre to explore the water of Lake Saadjärv and discover small invertebrates. These investigations will be held indoors and are not dependent on weather conditions. Participants will use test tubes and simple microscopes to learn about the changes happening in the lake water during autumn as the lake’s ecosystem prepares for winter.

Visitors of all ages are welcome to join the workshop.
The workshop starts at 11:00 AM in the Ice Age Centre’s conference hall, and participation is free with the purchase of an Ice Age Centre ticket. The workshop lasts approximately 45 minutes.
There is also a family-friendly café on-site. We recommend coming with the whole family!

The Ice Age Centre is open during the October school break from Tue to Sun, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the Jääkaru café is open from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The Ice Age Centre – where 13.7 billion years of history unfolds from the Big Bang. It’s an experience center that allows you to witness climate change, the development of the Earth, and make connections between different times and phenomena.

At the Ice Age Centre, you can do many exciting things:

 Learn about life before and after the last ice age

 Find 25 experienced visitor and 15 children’s audio guide narrations throughout the building using QR codes and listen

 Play in the cave of Stone Age people and search for bones in the sand like an archaeologist

 See and touch snowmen indoors

 Enjoy the dark winter night and the play of the northern lights regardless of cloudy weather

 Learn why polar bears don’t eat penguins (on the third floor)

 Play the Lemming Lemps search path and receive a small gift from the administrator

 Listen to Peeter Laurits’ narrations at his exhibition and meditate on benches or cushions

 Have fun in the children’s room with stone pillows

 On March 3rd, come listen to discussions on Polar Bear Day
